Another point for Charleston

While I believe this survey to be a bit shallow and pointless, it's always nice to win!  Travel & Leisure's annual America's Favorite Cities survey ranked the top ten cities with the most and least attractive people.


Charleston ranked first for attractiveness and friendliness, second for style, and made the top ten for intelligence.  Not too shabby!

While it's always nice to see your city earn some recognition, I love it here no matter what.  If there is one ranking I agree most with, it's friendliness.  Charleston has so much charm, not only in it's aesthetic appearance, but in the genuine warmth of the people who inhabit it.  At least once a week I try to remind myself how lucky I am to live here!

If any of y'all haven't seen my main squeeze, Keenan Cahill, on YouTube you are really missing out.  Check out his YouTube profile here.  He lip syncs (sort of) to all of the hottest jams while rotating some great facial expressions and dance moves, occasionally throwing in a newbie.  Considering his lack of actual talent, it's pretty insane how many views his videos have gotten (he's currently right under 65.5 million).  My point for this post is to tell you that he's going to be on Chelsea Lately tonight!  Cannot wait to see her get ahold of him!

Brooke's Married!

This past weekend one of my good friends from college, Brooke, got married!  She looked beautiful, as always, and it was so good to see her and other friends that I hadn't seen in a very long time!  I didn't even meet Brooke's man before the big day!

Reason #49157 I wish I were still in college...

The Study of...GaGa??  The University of South Carolina is making headlines all over by offering a course titled ''Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame" during the upcoming Spring semester.  Even Perez Hilton blogged about it!  South Carolina Professor, Mathieu Deflem, first watched GaGa perform on The Tonight Show and knew she was "an extraordinarily talented and exciting new artist who was doing great things musically and creatively," he said.  According to a New York Times article, he went on to follow her on tour around the world and has met GaGa five times to date. 

The professor, who has his own website GagaFrontRow.net, says of the course, "We're going to look at Lady Gaga as a social event.  So it's not the person, and it's not the music. It's more this thing out there in society that has 10 million followers on Facebook and 6 million on Twitter. I mean, that's a social phenomenon. It's a global social phenomenon."

Although she's scheduled to be on tour during most of the Spring semester, he said, “I will get the word out to her that I’m doing the course, but it might be logistically too difficult for her to come.”  

I bet this class will be filled in the blink of an eye.  Sociology credit and a possible visit from Lady G?!  Yes please!  Once the course begins, we can follow the lectures and class discussions on this blog.

DWTS Randomness

I must admit, I have not been watching this show very regularly.  Especially because the second hour interferes with my first priority, Gossip Girl.  What about Chuck and Blair getting it on?!  I try to keep up with what I miss through the Internet and I see that my girl Jennifer Grey is still standing...at the top! 

I know Brandi is right up there with her, but I just don't like her attitude.  I think this roots back to seeing her on Punk'd when she was accused of stealing jewelry and she continuously repeated, "I'm a ce-leb-ri-ty.  I have millions of dollars."  Needless to say, I'm pulling for Jen to take the disco-ball trophy. 


I loved seeing Apolo return last night!  This past June, my friends and I hung out with him at a pool party in Vegas so it's kind of weird to see him acting so...professional? 

He invited us over for champagne and we asked him to perform a little number but he wasn't very cooperative.  Carlie thought he may have a different answer if she asked if she could wear his gold chain...

no such luck. 


And lastly, did anyone see Audrina's mom's rant after she was unexpectedly voted off last week?  She was asked her opinion on her daughter's elimination while smoking outside of a restaurant and it doesn't appear that she was very sober.  She didn't hold back on her thoughts on several things, including Lauren Conrad and the rest of The Hills "tramps."  I found it pretty interesting/embarrassing:

Chelsea Time

I read over the weekend that E! is in the works of a new comedy show, After Lately.  It will be a comedy based on the backstage happenings of Chelsea Lately.  Just from watching her show, I get the idea that there is a whole lot of interesting going on back there!  Not to mention, I'm a "fan" of her show on Facebook and see frequent uploads like this:

This has the potential to be very entertaining!

In other Chelsea news, I cannot decide whether I think it is a publicity stunt or if Chels is ACTUALLY hanging with 50 Cent?!  I, too, have had a strange crush on him and his voice ever since hearing "In Da Club" my senior year of high school, so I could always relate to her when she spoke of her 50 crush.  But when it comes down to it, I don't think we'd be the most compatible (just a hunch) and I would have thought the same to be true for her!  But when images like this appear...

...you can't help but wonder!
