There were a few dull performances, Nicki Minaj has completely lost it and I just can't get down with Chris Brown like I used to.  Definitely not twice. I felt the absence of Kayne, Beyonce and Jay, the Grammys need them!  Although Gaga was ridiculously dressed, she managed to stay rather tame through the night.  All in all I was thoroughly entertained!  Happy Monday!

The Hunger Games

Once I saw the trailer for this movie, I knew I wanted to read the book before it came out.  If I had researched what the book is actually about, I probably wouldn't have read it.  Teenagers fighting to the death doesn't really capture me.  But throw in a little love triangle and I'm hooked!  Especially when one of the members of the triangle is played by Miley's beautiful man, Liam Hemsworth.  I jumped into the second book yesterday and I hope it's just as good!

So, I Made It...

Hello from Nashville! I know all 5 of my avid readers have been checking my blog daily for an update and to them, I apologize. So where to start...I am LOVING it here!
I have been to several different restaurants, shopping areas and bars and everything has exceeded what I thought it would be. I didn't think I could move from a place like Charleston and be impressed by food but there are so many great restaurants here. A lot of individually owned places as well as chains, but the good chains. Among many great meals, I had an awesome breakfast with my parents at Pancake Pantry and a great dinner with Molls at Bricktops. The shopping is fab. I live right next to the Hill Center and Green Hills mall (this is where I feel my celeb sightings will go down) and not far at all from TJ's and Target. I ventured about 20 minutes out to Cool Springs one weekend which has really great shopping as well. As for the nightlife, it is so different than anywhere I've ever been but I love it! I love the downtown area because every bar has amazing live country music. Literally all day, every day. I've seen an awesome band every weekend since I moved here. I also love the Midtown area. Last Thursday night Toby Keith showed up at a bar in Midtown and performed. Of course I'm still waiting for that to happen when I'm out!

I've met a lot of great people through the people I already knew here and through my job. I love everything about my job which is such a nice feeling. There's a great energy working with a sports team and once the season starts, I hear it only gets better. I will have to do a post after our season opener in Palo Alto, CA next weekend. I cannot wait to see Stanford's campus and a little bit of San Fran!

The biggest adjustment for me has been the weather. I thought I knew cold, and I know it could be much colder than Nashville, but coming from South Carolina I have never felt a cold like this on a day-to-day basis! I wear cuddlduds under my clothes at least twice a week but I'm really trying to improve.

So this post is kind of boring, but now that I've knocked out the general info that I wanted to, I will be able to focus more on the fun things going on. I'm so bummed I can't show y'all any actual pics...I accidentally deleted every pic on my cam since I moved here. But hopefully I can make up for those soon enough! Miss all of my SC fam and buds lots!

Eight Months in One Post

Oh, hey!  After an 8 month blog hiatus I am back in action.  Mainly because - if you can't already tell by my modifications - I am moving to Nashville (!!) and I want my buds to be able to keep up with me!  So while I have a lot of big changes coming up for the new year, let's not brush passed the things I've missed blogging about since April...

My mom, aunt and cousin came for a girls weekend in Charleston and my cousin moved here 3 weeks later!

Made a weekend trip to Murrell's Inlet for the first time, SO fun!

My best bud Molly is moving from Charleston to Nashville this week and I am so sad about it!!  We had such a fun dinner at Coast with her last night and have one more din planned with her mom before she skips town.  I thought I'd dedicate a post to some of her shining moments and fun times we had while she was here in Charleston!

Well hello...

It has been another busy couple of weeks and I have been SLACK on the blogging.  I do apolo!  Let's see...

I went with some friends to the CFW finale party which was really cool.  I did not feel like I was in Charleston at all.  The old Millennium Music building on the corner of King and Calhoun was completely turned into a club called LUXE for the night, complete with dancers, three DJ's, open bar, VIP sections and a catwalk for the fashion show right down the middle.  Unfortunately I didn't take many pics, but here are a few-

This past weekend was the bridge run here in Charleston.  Through my friend Taylor, I was able to help judge the first annual costume contest that the company she works for sponsored.  I have never made it downtown for the festivities before this year and I LOVED it!  At 8AM there was a band set up every few blocks down King and tons of people lining the streets to cheer on the 40,000 runners.  Taylor and I had so much fun checking out the costumes and enjoyed some high-quality people watching.  These were some of my fave 'tumes-

Saturday afternoon we made it over to IOP for a wedding shower for Caroline and Nick!  I love their spot on the Intracoastal Waterway and it was such a pretty day.

We hit up Wasabi before going out that night where Tommy Tang made it rain with the sake, per usual.

I loved having so many friends in town and hope to see everyone soon!!
